Goodbye Bafana - Review
1.- I think the film works in general, it's entertaining to watch. It's also interesting to see another point of view different from the regular one we often see: Mandela's point of view. In terms of the veracity of the events showed in the movie and the relatioship between Mandela and Gregory I can't know if they're truth or not, but obviously in a movie all characters are idealized to fit with a profile of a movie character and make them interesting in those terms. that's why I think sometimes it was a little too much, like when Gregory and Mandela start "fighting" in the prison.
At the end I think it as an interesting movie, nothing new but entertaining.
2.- Because of how the movie was made, I liked Gregory's character the most, because of it was the most developed character and the focus was like always on him, from time on screen to plot development of the movie itself. Also that guy who hired Gregory was an interesting character, cause he gave the movie.
3.- The differences between both movies aren't that much. The biggest difference come with the point of view of each one, but I think that in both of them the directors tried to give them protagonism and come certain atributes to make them more heroic. Anyways I liked more Winnie in the first movie because she showed really brave and she wasn't a character with just an only lecture, you could love her or maybe even hate her.
