Catch a Fire - Review
1.- What I liked about this movie is the fact it wasn't focused on Mandela's life. I think it's a lot more interesting to see how the actual southafrican people lived this period and how apartheid affected them in their daily life. Also I really liked the cinematography in this movie, it was pretty well done, and it's so catching, I felt really into the movie at some point. The way Patrick changed during the plot development was pretty good, and also this movie had the most interesting characters, the movie in general felt more real, and it wasn't as morbid as the another two, because it's common to see like 234935 hours of hyper dramatic punishment in this kind of movies, so that's something I appreciate. The prisioners films sub-genre it's so exhausting for me.
2.- (Maybe just because he was the main character) my personal favorite was Patrick, because it was a complex character, he wasn't the typicall angelical main character who doesn't do any bad thing. Altough he f*cked up sometimes but in the end he was a good boy, and he became brave and revolutionary. I really wish he could had destroy the plant.
The antagonist was a good character aswell, but I hated him.
3.- Samora Machel was Frelimo's chief, organization that helped the ANC in their military training, and there was Patrick after he decided to leave his family to join the ANC an they fight against opression. Frelimo not only helped the ANC, they also helped some other revolutionary groups arround the continent, like Rhodesia and Zimbahue in their fight against colonialism. Samora Machel was always a fighter who faught against injustice wherever he found it.

I agree, Patrick isn't the typical main character, he has a great development
